Super Fast Style: Rope Braid 3 Ways!

June 19, 2019 by amyreeves24@gmail.com 1 Comment

Versatile, EASY, and gorgeous- you need to add this rope braid for your repertoire!

I have confessed before that I had no idea how to french braid before I went to cosmetology school. And while I am now a braiding ninja with other people’s hair, my hands still tend to get confused on my own head.

This rope braid is the perfect solution for those of us who are all thumbs when it comes to braiding our own hair.

There are only two strands to keep track of! You just take two sections, add hair to the front one, and twist it over the back. And repeat. And repeat until you’re done.

You can simply pin the braid back to one side…

Braid on both sides and twist them together in the back…

.

Or keep going all the way down for the beautiful and romantic side braid.

Rope Braid 3 Ways

Products Used:

  • Comb
  • Rubber elastic
  • Bobby pins
  • Texture spray (My favorites- Moroccanoil Dry Texture Spray and Kenra Platinum Dry Texture Spray)

Step 1:

Part your hair in a deep side part. Take a section of hair, about 1/2 inch thick, from the front of your hair to the crown.

Step 2:

Divide Section into two equal pieces.

Step 3:

Cross front section over back section.

Step 4:

Add hair from the front to the new front section.

Step 5:

Cross over the back section, bringing the back section to the front.

Step 6:

Keep on rollin! Add hair to the front section, twist over to the back. Back section become new front section; add hair and repeat!
