Soup Season

January 13, 2020 by amyreeves24@gmail.com 3 Comments

In November and December, I am so excited about the dropping temperatures and snow flurries make me giddy. As soon as Christmas is over, I am 100% over it. Cold weather makes me sad, snow makes me angry, and I just want to be warm and to stop being stuck inside.

The only things that keep me going through the rough winter months are wearing sweats and hoodies 95% of the time, and making soup for dinner. A warm bowl of soup, and hopefully some fresh baked carbs along side it, is a warm spot of happiness in a freezing sludge of blah.

If soup is on your menu, here’s a collection of my favorite soup recipes

My Recipes

Instant Pot or Crock Pot Chicken Taco Soup

This is on our table at least once a month. Made with pantry ingredients I always have on hand, everyone in my family loves it, and it comes together super quick either in the morning in your crock pot or an hour before dinner in the Instant Pot!

Corn Chowder

Copycat Corn Chowder from Mimi’s Cafe is another crowd pleaser! It’s simple and so tasty!

White Chicken Chili

One of my most popular recipes, and for good reason! I am obsessed with this soup. My kids are obsessed with eating oyster crackers with a bit of soup to go with them.

Creamy Chicken and Wild Rice Soup

I know soup isn’t, like, the sexiest or most exciting of foods. But this recipe is my very favorite recipe I have ever developed. It is SO dang good. Creamy and savory and just plain GOOD.

Favorite Soups From Favorite Bloggers

Loaded Broccoli Cheese and Bacon Soup from Mel’s Kitchen Cafe

Corn Chowder with Chilies from the Pioneer Woman

Put on your favorite sweats and slippers, get a pot of soup on the stove, and let’s hibernate until spring.

Love soups! I can’t wait to try your chicken and wild rice! Nutty goodness. Try Pressure Luck’s Zuppa Toscana. It is the absolute best EVER! Puts the chain’s to shame. It may be one you add to your repertoire!
