Homemade Hot Fudge

August 2, 2019 by amyreeves24@gmail.com Leave a Comment

Made in 5 minutes with simple ingredients, this Homemade Hot Fudge knocks any store bought stuff out of the water. It is so decadent, deeply chocolatey, and sublime!

Ice cream is my #1 favorite food. All of my favorite desserts should be served with ice cream. It makes everything better, and yet is absolutely perfect just on its own.

I could honestly eat a bowl of plain vanilla ice cream and be pretty happy about it. But give me some good vanilla ice cream with some of this hot fudge? To quote Uncle Jesse, have mercy.

It’s unreal. The texture is incredible. Smooth and pourable when warm, and deliciously fudgey and dense as it cools.

And I’ve heard from a trusted source that it is bonkers delicious enjoyed straight from the jar, on a spoon.

It’s super simple, comes together in a flash, and you need it. Like, now.

Ingredients Method Notes

Ingredients

  • 1 1/3 cups semisweet chocolate chips
  • 3/4 cup heavy cream
  • 4 tablespoons butter
  • 1/4 cup light corn syrup
  • 2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract

Method

  1. In a medium saucepan, stir together the chocolate chips, heavy cream, butter, corn syrup, and cocoa powder. Heat the mixture over medium heat, stirring constantly, until the chocolate is melted and the mixture is smooth, 3-5 minutes. Don’t let the mixture overheat or scorch! Add additional milk or heavy cream, if needed, for a thinner consistency.
  2. Remove the pan from the heat and stir in the vanilla. Let cool slightly before serving. Store in a covered container in the fridge for up to 2 weeks. Reheat in the microwave in 30 second intervals, stirring in between.
