Dashing Diva Gel Nail Strip Review + Application

September 4, 2019 by amyreeves24@gmail.com 3 Comments

I have gnarly nails. They are always peeling and chipping and I keep them really short so I can play piano without the “click clacking” of long nails.

For the past few years, I have done gel or powder dip manicures almost all of the time. I love how they look and they last forever. However, they are not without major drawbacks. I was dropping $40-50 every time I got them done, taking an hour at a nail salon, and removing them always absolutely shredded my nails. They would be paper thin and fragile afterwards, which led me to getting them done again, and the cycle would continue.

So I decided to let my nails heal. I tried a few different polishes that promised long wear, but none of them delivered on their promises. Also, there is nothing like having wet nail polish that makes me need to go pee more. We’ve all done that dance, trying to get our pants buttoned with wet nail polish. It never works.

And then these Dashing Diva Gel Nail Strips entered my life. I was very skeptical. The gal at the beauty supply store assured me that hers last 2 weeks, but I was unconvinced.

But after trying them out for myself, I’m a true convert! They really do last at least 2 weeks, they are super easy to put on, easy and harmless to take off, and so FUN! I get compliments on my nails every time I’m out.

In the gel nails vs strip nails competition, these are no contest. Dashing Diva Gel Nail Strips win in cost, time, nail integrity, design, and ease.

Dashing Diva Gel Nail Strips

WHERE TO BUY

If you are a cosmetologist, these are available at both CosmoProf and Salon Centric.

Otherwise, you can find them at Sally Beauty , Ulta, or the Dashing Diva website!

COST

Dashing Diva Gel Strips: $8 per pack. If you’re strategic, you can get 3 sets of nails from 2 sheets of strips.

PREPARATION

If you’ve ever done your own gel nails, you know there is a whole process of filing and pushing back cuticles and preparing your nail. For these nail strips, all you have to do is quickly wipe each nail with alcohol. An alcohol wipe works great.

APPLICATION

The first time I put them on, I wasn’t really sure how to get the edges clean. But now I’m an expert. It takes me less than 10 minutes to get them all on. Watch the video to learn my tricks!

REMOVAL

The removal could not be simpler. Put a drop of nail polish remover at the base of each nail strip. Let it sit for a minute, then peel the strip off. Zero damage, zero waiting, zero fingers-wrapped-in-tin-foil.

LONGEVITY

I am on my third set of these nails. The first two lasted 2 weeks, and then I took them off because the edges were lifting. This set has been on for a week, and looks perfect. Keep your nail strips in case you get a rogue nail that comes off early, and then reapply and keep on truckin! I have been amazed at how well these last. I wash my hands a million times a day, wash a bunch of hair while I’m doing hair, and am just generally really hard on my nails. And these can take it!

OVERALL REVIEW

10/10! I love them! These are my new go-to nail, my new favorite gift, my new hobby! I love the different patterns, I love having fun and pretty nails that last 2 weeks without any damage, and I love not spending the time and money I used to spend at a nail salon. Win, win, win!

I was wondering if you ever considered changing the page layout of your website? Its very well written; I love what youve got to say. But maybe you could a little more in the way of content so people could connect with it better. Youve got an awful lot of text for only having one or two pictures. Maybe you could space it out better?
